Interesting. It seems that Mazda somehow managed to get the RX-4 Coupe into US legal condit ion without the silly safety bump ers. The (much uglier) face lifted model did get those though.

The first time I ever saw an RX4 wagon in the flesh I thought it was some obscure AMC model because of those door handles.
